About Dr. H. Douglass Woodford

Dr. H. Douglas Woodford is a U.S.-trained Obstetrician-Gynecologist with more than four decades of clinical experience in women’s health and hormone therapy. He completed his medical education, internship, and residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis and spent over 40 years in full-scope OB-GYN practice serving women in the southeastern United States.

In the later part of his career, Dr. Woodford shifted his focus toward bio-identical hormone therapy and longitudinal care for midlife women. This transition was driven by clinical observation and patient demand for more durable, physiologically grounded approaches to hormone support—particularly in patients who had not achieved adequate outcomes with conventional delivery methods. In 2012, he founded Full Life Wellness, where he introduced subcutaneous hormone pellet therapy as part of an integrative, outcomes-focused care model.

In 2023, Dr. Woodford became the principal investigator of an IRB-approved prospective observational registry study examining adjunct testosterone implant therapy in women with a history of breast cancer. Conducted in collaboration with oncology specialists, the study focuses on quality-of-life outcomes and long-term clinical observation in a complex patient population, reflecting his commitment to responsible inquiry in areas where clinical questions remain nuanced and evolving.

Dr. Woodford is the founder of The Pellet Method, a structured clinical training program designed to support licensed healthcare providers in the integration of hormone pellet therapy. The program emphasizes principles, clinical judgment, and technique—rather than rigid protocols—so providers can apply pellet therapy appropriately within their own regulatory and practice environments. Through this work, Dr. Woodford is focused on education, mentorship, and elevating the standard of pellet therapy delivery among providers in Canada.

“Hormone pellet therapy isn’t about following a formula.
It’s about understanding physiology, exercising clinical judgment, and treating the patient in front of you.”

Intro to Dr. W’s Breast Cancer Study

Dr. Woodford is leading an important prospective study investigating the safety and outcomes of hormone therapy in women with a history of breast cancer, with a particular focus on real-world application and long-term follow-up.

This research builds on existing cohort and observational work and is designed to address clinical questions that matter to practicing providers, including those caring for complex midlife and post-treatment patient populations. While the study is currently active in select U.S. centers, its insights are directly relevant to clinicians considering or offering hormone modulation therapies in Canada.

We include this work here not as a validation of any one therapy, but to highlight the kind of evidence-driven inquiry that informs The Pellet Method’s curriculum and supports providers in making informed, patient-centered decisions.
