Testosterone's Role in Bone Health Healthy Aging women

A Concise Review of Testosterone and Bone Health

Mohamad, Soelaiman & Chin, 2016

This review explores the important role testosterone plays in skeletal health. The authors summarize how testosterone supports bone through both direct androgen receptor activity and indirect conversion to estrogen, helping regulate bone formation and resorption. Although much of the literature historically centers on men, this paper is useful for framing testosterone as a hormone with clear structural and metabolic significance well beyond sexual function alone.
